I have been journaling religiously for the past week while I was in Nicaragua on a missions trip through the Virginia Tech Nicaraguan Orphan Fund over our spring break. I didn't want to spend my time on a cruise, or sitting on a beach or at home - I wanted to spend my week in a third world country where the people have nothing to give except love and many lessons to teach us.
There is no easy way to sum up the trip, but this is what I will say:
It was a trip that opened my eyes to what really matters in life - the people who love you, the food you have to eat, and a warm bed to sleep in. The simple things in life are the best things. If you trust in Him, you will be provided with all that you need....and that is what I learned from the children in Nicaragua. Be kind, be happy, be true to Him and yourself, love your family and you will be the richest person in the world.
